Classing Clarifications for 2013

B Prepared Class It has come to our attention that the B Prepared class has been eliminated by the SCCA SEB for the 2013 season. The class was listed in the 2012 rules as Provisional and has be removed in the latest rule book. TSCC will allow competitors to run the BP class for the 2013 season. Their cars must conform to the BP rules from the 2012 rule book. For 2014, all BP competitors will need to class their cars according to the 2014 rules.
ST Body Work Exception
For 2012 TSCC allowed a local exception for spoilers in the ST class category. The SCCA rules changed at the beginning of the 2012 season eliminating these items and in order to provide competitors time to chose how to proceed with their vehicles we implemented an exception. This exception is not being extended into 2013 or beyond.
Competitors running ST with now illegal pieces on their car have two options. They can choose to remove the piece during competition. An alternative is to reclass the car based on the modification and compete in our Street Tire class based on the proper class PAX. We realize this will likely result in a harder PAX for competitors affected, but we feel it is the best compromise for accomodating competitors and avoiding having an extensive rules exception list for TSCC competitors.
TSCC go-kart racing at American Indoor Karting (AIK)

TSCC will be holding a winter go-karting series at American Indoor Karting in VA Beach. Entry fee is $30 per event, with 3 races per person and a 30-lap shootout for the top 10 qualifiers. Events will be held 7-9pm Tuesdays, Feb 5, 12, 19 & 26.
In the past TSCC has awarded year end trophies to anyone who completes the required number of events. This has lead to a conundrum. What value is it to be a member?
There has been a great deal of interest concerning what direction TSCC would take in regard to RT classes for the 2013 season. After hours of debate, discussion, research and consideration the board has voted to maintain our class structure as it currently stands without bringing in the RT classes.
The board has looked at an number of issues and situations in which our rule system is not clear or is lacking. For the 2013 season all of the below rules and procedures will be effective as of our first event.
For 2013 the following fee schedules will be in place for memberships and event registration. The one that will impact the largest number of competitors is the introduction of $5 pre-registration.
